Acceptable use

1.1You can post about any topic.

1.2You can hold and share strong opinions.

1.3You can criticise politicians, the government and Curcle.

1.4You can share political views of every kind.

1.5The rules below are about how you post, not what you think.

2.1Abuse, harassment, or threats toward anyone, on the feed, in a circle, or in a message.

2.2Anything unlawful. The main kinds are terrorism, child sexual exploitation and abuse, threats and harassment, hate offences, fraud and scams, selling illegal goods or services, sharing intimate images without consent, and encouraging suicide or self-harm.

2.3Impersonating another person or any public body.

2.4Posting anyone's personal information without their consent.

2.5Fake accounts and fake engagement. That means bots and automation; buying, selling, renting or sharing verified accounts; having more than one account; verifying with someone else's identity or address; and coordinating likes, comments or reposts to make posts look more popular than they are.

2.6Promotion outside business accounts and paid adverts. A business can promote itself only through a business account or a paid advert. Spam is not allowed from anyone, and political adverts are banned, as the terms explain.

2.7Content that discriminates against people, or that incites hatred against them, on the basis of who they are.

2.8Content deliberately made to deceive that could cause harm. That means fake news stories presented as real, doctored or AI-made images, video or audio of real people presented as real, and false information about how, when or where to vote. Opinion, disagreement and honest mistakes are not covered by this rule.

2.9Posting anonymously does not shield anyone from these rules. We still know who you are, and the rules apply to you in full.

3.1Use Report on any post, comment, message, profile or circle.

3.2If you do not have an account, report it by emailing support@curcle.uk, the address on our contact page.

3.3A person reviews every report. What happens next, and how to complain or appeal, is set out in section 12 of the terms.

3.4If someone is in danger, call 999.

4.1We may remove the content.

4.2The steps are a warning, then limits on what your account can do, then suspension, then removal from Curcle. A serious breach can go straight to a later step.

4.3Removal applies to the verified identity, so a person removed from Curcle cannot verify a new account.

4.4Where behaviour appears to be criminal, we may refer it to the police.
